COFFEE OVERDOSE

Happiness
I WANT MORE COFFEE!!! weeeee.. I bet you have some idea if coffee is really good/bad to your health. (don't bother to ask me about that cause that doesn't matter to me)At some point it helps and sometimes it kills us. But why? This time we're gonna talk about Toxicology to answer that question.

But before we start, I'll just ask you a few more questions. Is there a food/beverage that you are addicted to? Do you know that at some point it can be poisonous and sometimes beneficial to your health? Why do we have to learn about these things? Well, Toxicology will tell us why.

MORE COFFEE. PLEASE??
WHAT IS TOXICOLOGY?
Toxicology is a study of the adverse effects of chemicals on living organisms. It draws heavily on knowledge in chemical and biological fields and seek a detailed understanding of toxic effects and means to prevent or reduce toxicity.

BRANCHES OF TOXICOLOGY
Toxicology was broad and flourished from its early origins just like the other branches of science. Because of the difference in societal needs, Toxicology is divided in different specialties.

Clinical Toxicology- deals with the prevention and diagnosis of poisoning, that is practiced in a hospital or clinical setting

Forensic Toxicology- deals with the analysis of biological samples for the presence of potentially toxic substances and for the presence of drugs, and usually practiced in medico-legal aspect of drug testing.

Occupational Toxicology- it defines the conditions for their safe use of agents of concern in the workplace,  and prevent absorption of harmful amounts.

Environmental Toxicology- deals with the impact of chemicals on living organisms.

Food Toxicology- deals with the analysis and toxic effects of substances in food
